You Disrobed the Temple

Tuesday 19 August 2008, by Suhas Borker

Forget all the loot of the past
Forget all the heirlooms and jewels
Forget all the gold and family silver
Stolen, sold, resold, melted, moulded and parked away.

This time,
 Twentysecond July 2008
You went for the jugular of our faith
 You disrobed the Temple
You stripped it of its dignity
 You pillaged its ethics
 You sacked its morality
 You pilloried its truth
You hung its conscience upside down
By stacking naked greed on the table.

The Reichstag was set on fire like this once
But your shenanigan will come to naught.

From the high dome of justice that crown
The one hundred and fortyfour columns of the Temple
The trauma, pain and anguish of the earthy millions
The eyes that mirror the Lok
 THE FURY OF THEIR WRATH
Will make the netted shibboleths in stones above
 Rain upon you.

Who elected you?
 Whom do you represent?
 Whose Parliament is it?
 Who is above The People?
 Your answers are meaningless now
The will of the people will prevail.
 You will pay for this!
 You will pay for this!

The Blue Chakra juggernaut
 That transcends timelines
And flies from above the Temple colonnade
Will catch up with you soon
The will of the people will prevail.
 You will pay for this!
 You will pay for this!
