On 19 July 1920, MPT Acharya and Mohammed Shafique traveled to Petrograd and attended the 2nd Congress of the Communist International as delegates of the Indian Revolutionary Association. It was here at the Third International that they met for the first time M.N. Roy, Evelyn Roy, and Abani Mukherji.
