BJP Anti-Tribal By Nature, Remembers Them Only Before Elections: CPI MP Binoy Viswam in Rajya Sabha

CPI parliamentary party leader Binoy Viswam while speaking on the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment Bill), 2024 and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment Bill) 2024 launched a frontal attack on Narendra Modi led BJP Government for its anti-tribal positions. The BJP government is controlled by the RSS, which believes in the ideology of Manuvad, said Viswam. BJP’s claims on tribal welfare are false and they exhibit a mentality of discrimination towards tribal and other backward sections.
In his speech, he asked the government to explain to the House and the people of this country why the President of India, a tribal woman was not invited to the inauguration of the new parliament building. He said that BJP must explain why the President of India was kept away from the “pran prathishta†ceremony in Ayodhya? Was it because she is a tribal? Was it because she is woman or was it because she is a widow? This treatment with the first citizen of the country shows the ideological bias of the BJP-RSS towards the marginalised.
In the ideology of Manuvad, women, tribals, and SC categories are not equal to others. BJP-RSS are working under the framework of chathurvarnya and are playing politics for the domination by upper castes and class. The plight of SC/ST categories is forgotten. Jal, Jungle and Jameen of tribal people are thrown to corporate plunder by the BJP. It was the BJP who was at the forefront of opposing the Mandal Commission Report which ensured the safety, security, and promotion of SC/ST and OBC categories.
It is after all such inhumane tendencies, BJP pretends to be the saviours of tribal people. In reality BJP at its core is vehemently anti- tribal. BJP speaks about the tribals and socially backward categories only for the sake of votes. They regard SC/ST and other backward classes as mere instruments for vote consolidation.
