PRESS RELEASE

14th July 2021, New Delhi

US, HANDS OFF FROM CUBA

Over the past six decades the Cuba has been hit by the economic sanctions imposed by the US administration. The US attempts of putting “Maximum Pressure” on Cuban government and instigate the people for counter revolution are being thwart by the revolutionary people of Cuba again and again. The latest protest of people by carrying the symbols of USA is the latest in this series.

The Cuba has suffered a lot due to these sanctions. They are unable to import food, medicines, vehicles, raw materials and other essential commodities. The entire world repeatedly demanded to withdraw the embargo. But the US administration is reluctant to hear the voice of people all over the world. Whoever may be coming to power in USA, the attitude towards Cuba is same. Therefore it is nothing but and ideological conflict between imperialism and socialism. The AIFB stands with Socialist Cuba.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the major income of Cuba, which is from tourism was stopped. The government of Cuba was facing serious hardships due to economic sanctions and income crunch. But even then the tiny Cuba developed its own vaccine and helped many countries in the field of health care.

The All India Forward Bloc strongly condemns the US interference on the internal matters of Cuba and urges upon the US administration to hands off from Cuba. While saluting the revolutionary people of Cuba and the Socialist government in the time of difficulties, the AIFB call upon the people from all walks of life to raise voice against all sorts of imperialist machinations against Socialist Cuba. The UN has to take more serious initiatives to withdraw the economic sanctions on Cuba by the US administration.
