Press Release

Communist Party of India General Secretary D RAJA issued the following statement condemning the use of central agencies to destabilise the LDF government in Kerala and other non-BJP state governments:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly condemns the central government’s repeated moves to destabilize the LDF government in Kerala and other non-BJP governments in the states. The Party is of the firm opinion that the onslaught of central investigation agencies against the Kerala state government, is part of a larger political conspiracy triggered by BJP and Sangh Parivar targeting the Chief Minister of Kerala.

This is a blatant calculated move to destabilise the Left Democratic Front government which has achieved unparalleled heights in many sectors such as public health, education and food security. In this context, the statements of the accused in gold smuggling case that they were compelled to depose against the Chief Minister and his office by the central investigation agencies is clearly a proof of this.

Also, the present move to destroy the credibility of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) shows that even the constitutional institutions are being misused to plot against the state government.

CPI strongly condemns the unethical move by the central government to use the central agencies to destabilise the Kerala State government. The Party appeals to all democratic secular forces to resist the RSS-BJP led central government’s anti-democratic and anti-constitutional moves and also to uphold the federal principles of governance in our country.
